Rising Tides Of Incoming 2018 Environmental Protection Situation Is Still Severe

Recently, Minister of Environmental Protection Li Ganjie pointed out: The atmospheric pollution situation is still grim. Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei is still the main battlefield for air pollution control. Up to now, the Ministry of Environmental Protection has sent 322 supervision letters to 28 cities in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, together with a supervision list.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection emphasizes that, now that the inspection is not completed within two months, the illegal enterprise will not have a way out if it is not reformed. The local government will not punish the illegal company in time, and if the list is rectified, it will be held accountable.

Although the first phase of the “Tenth Atmosphere” target has been achieved, the atmospheric pollution situation remains grim. The Ministry of Environmental Protection proposes that it will formulate and implement a three-year plan to win the battle against blue sky, and put forward plans for the implementation of air pollution prevention in key regions such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding areas, the Yangtze River Delta, and Chongqing Plain.

Today, less than two months after the end of the inspection, the environmental protection work in this year has achieved initial results, but the dry plastic brothers are miserable! On the one hand, the factory has stopped production for rectification and invested a lot of money. On the other hand, the price of plastic raw materials soared, and it was just red in the beginning of the year! In the near future, we may usher in the first wave of price increases in 2018!

Industry experts said: The environmental protection situation in 2018 is still grim! The plastics industry is already growing up!

On February 8, DuPont, the industry leader, issued the latest price increase letter and will adjust the price of the following products:

DuPontTM Zytel® and Zytel® HTN nylon products are increased by US$380/ton, equivalent to RMB2,395/ton;

DuPontTM Crastin® PBT products are increased by US$200/ton, equivalent to RMB 1,261/ton;

DuPontTM Delrin® POM products are increased by US$200/ton, equivalent to RMB 1,261/ton;

DuPontTM Vamac® AEM products have been raised by $700/ton, equivalent to RMB 4,412/ton.

From March 1st, Asahi Kasei will increase all grades of polyoxymethylene (TENAC) and copolyoxymethylene (TENAC-C) by 1,900 yuan/ton (without tax).

In fact, before the Spring Festival, the tight atmosphere filled the entire POM market. The market price of POM rose sharply. On the one hand, the environmental supervision and anti-dumping investigations are in full swing.

On the other hand, China's current supply-side industrial chain is low, and the weak balance between supply and demand is difficult to solve. The superposition of these numerous factors undoubtedly contributes to the coexistence of a favorable and negative development of the POM market.
